Documents and Application Process

As you make the online application, you should fill in the correct details. The name should be the same as it appears on the passport. Otherwise, the application process will be unsuccessful.

  • You will also need to attach a recent 2in X 2in colored photograph whose size is less than 10MB. A failure to adhere to this specification will result in a problem uploading the scanned image. For a good experience, just make it as it is needed.
  • Have a valid passport that has your particulars and two blank pages. The validity should be a minimum of six months.

What Next after Filling the Online Form?

When you are sure the details are correct, the next thing is to make the payment. The amount will be well specified. You may use your PayPal account, or even your credit/debit card to make the payment.

Upon successful submission of the online form, you will receive an email notification from the email you gave in the form. It is your responsibility to ensure that the email is working and you will get the notification within 1 to 3 days for the Emergency Indian e-Medical Attendant Visa. Sometimes, you will have to check even the spam folder to ensure that you are not delayed.

The next step is to print out the visa approval letter which will accompany your other documents as you travel. This will act as your verification document before your visa is stamped on your passport at the airport.

Once you check in, you will follow the sign written ‘E-Visa’ to the immigration officer who will verify your documents and stamp your e-visa on your passport. You will also fill in an arrival/departure card before leaving the immigration desk.

Indian E-Medical Attendant Visa is a travel authorization given to the relative or guardian of the patient seeking medical assistance in India. It is a type of permit that they can get via online application. It shares the same policy with Indian E-Medical Visa that allows specific nationalities to visit India during the same period with the patient. It is eligible for triple-entry valid for two months (maximum of 60 days) upon arrival in the country. Both patient and attendant can obtain E-Medical Visa/ E-Medical Attendant Visa twice a year.

On March 30, 2021, all types of India E-Visa (except for Tourist E-Visa) are now available to the public.

  • Applicants for Indian E-Medical Attendant Visa must be a relative of the patient.
  • The applicant must accompany the patient throughout their treatment.

  • Each patient can have two blood-related attendants during their treatment.

  • I. Patients' and attendants' passports should be valid for six months.
  • II. Patients and attendants must be from eligible countries. Both should have individual passports for the application.
  • III. Patients' and attendants' passports should have two blank visa stamps.
  • IV. Foreigners of Pakistani origin, Pakistani passport holders, and permanent residents of Pakistan are not eligible for the e-Visa and must apply for a regular visa instead.
  • V. Diplomatic Passport, Official Passport, and international travel document holders are not eligible for the e-Visa process.
  • India's E-Medical Attendant Visa application is available through electronic application for eligible countries. Therefore, Applicants can miss out on going to Indian embassies to get a travel permit. Eligible foreigners may fill out the form in the comfort of their homes. They must have the requirements on hand during the online application. The system will send a notification through the registered email of the applicant to give confirmation.
  • Foreign nationals applying for Indian E-Medical Attendant Visa may lodge their application a minimum of four business days before their planned travel date to India or four months in advance.
  • Eligible candidates must have the following requirements on-hand when applying for Indian E-Medical Attendant Visa:
  • I. Clear photocopy or scan of attendant's passport in a standard format (JPG, PDF, or PNG.) The file size must not go beyond 3 MB.

  • The Indian E-Medical Attendant Visa fee may vary. It is non-refundable and does not depend on the result of the applicant. Applicants of Indian E-Medical Attendant Visa must review their application thoroughly before submitting the form. Any self-identified error after submission may lead to an invalid entry. The system may require a new one with the same processing fee.
  • The result may take two to three business days to notify in the applicant's registered email. Immigration suggests giving a few days leeway between their application and their scheduled flight to avoid discrepancies.
